CSIA Level 1 Ski Instructor Qualification
The CSIA Level 1 ski instructor qualification is split in to two segments, your teaching and your skiing. To be successfully awarded this certification you must pass both parts of the examination. Any season long course participant who should fail part of this exam will be entitled to a complementary free re-sit*.
Within the CSIA, 4 levels of certification are available. CSIA Level 1 is, you guessed it, the first entry level qualification. Level 1 covers off both teaching and skiing for beginner to intermediate skiers.
The course is an introduction to ski teaching technique, methodology and the role of ski teaching within the ski industry. It combines the basics of practical ski teaching methods and technical understanding. Split in to two sections of teaching and skiing, students must show their ability to teach beginner skiers the progression to linked parallel turns.
Over the 3 day course you will improve upon your skiing demonstrations and teaching technique with the advice and guidance from course examiners. This will give you all the necessary skills to successfully obtain your level 1 certification.
